Música a la llum, a program sponsored by Bankia and organized by the Valencian Institute of Culture – Generalitat Valenciana and the Federation of Musical Societies of the Region of Valencia (FSMCV), arises to collaborate with musical societies in the conservation, enhancement and dissemination of the splendid cultural heritage kept in their archives.
Since the end of 2016 a team of documentalists, with the support of the board of each society, is collecting detailed information on the musical and administrative archives of the bands and any other relevant heritage in their files. All this information is shared through this website, which aims to be a tool for researchers, students, members of the societies and any interested citizen. Here you also will found links to many references: audiovisuals, texts and studies about our wind music and their creators, some of them prepared by our team. The Facebook site of Música a la llum maintains close contact with interested people.
Música a la llum, which is part of the Bankia Escolta València project, is also recording CDs in collaboration with the Young Symphonic Band of the FSMCV, has organized a forthcoming congress on the documental heritage kept by musical societies (December 2018) and prepares other initiatives to gradually become the main documentary reference on band music in the Region of Valencia.
The Institut Valencià de Cultura, the Valencian Community Federation of Musical Societies (FSMCV) and the Valencia University organized the first international congress, from December 13 to 15, 2018, within the Música a la llum programme of activities, sponsored by Bankia. More information.
